REGIONAL REPORTS Region 1 (Tracy Eilers) November had one show in Region 1, Amy Peck's Calliope Mini Live. It was another of her wonderful small shows held in the amazing shop at her house. Reports of good competition came back from entrants! Thanks for great show, Amy! December has one small sold-out show, The Buzz and Wally Bonus Room Live held by Diana Patterson. We are also looking forward to Amy Peck's Ring in the New Year Live coming up in January 15th. She is sold-out for that show as well! Happy Holidays from Region 1! ****** Region 2 (Tom Dean) No shows to report for November, and only one upcoming in December, WACCO on Dec 11th in San Martin hosted by Jane Morehouse. (Workmanship and Collectibility Only) Wishing everyone the best for the holiday season and the upcoming year. ****** Region 3 (Teresa Buzzell) November was rather quiet in Region 3. Some places got snow, some got oddly warmish weather and no one had a show! The only show for December, Walkin' In A Mini Winterland has been held as of this report in Tucson. Upcoming in early January is an all Draft & Pony show, held in Phoenix by Cindy Davis. (Please see the NAMHSA website for contact information.) ****** Region 4 (Carra McClelland) No Report ****** Region 5 (Lori Batchelor) November brought us the second Red Dirt Round-up in Midwest City, OK. It was a smashing success and I think we are all looking forward to next year's show already. November also brought us Mid-Ark live in Greenville, AR. I was not able to attend this show but am sure it was a great time as usual. No shows planned in December, though several local groups are having Christmas get-togethers. Also, at this time no shows are planned for January that I know of. Happy holidays to all ****** Region 6 (Jackie Moore) Hello All! There were two shows in Region 6 in November. Peach State Live was held November 13 in Gainesville, GA. This show was a benefit for Fur Kids (a no-kill shelter in GA) and the Cloud Foundation. I'm sure both organizations are very grateful for the support! From all reports, the show went very smoothly, and everyone had a great time! Rockin' Redneck Roundup Live was held November 27 in Kissimee, FL. This was a Stone, AR, and CM specialty show. The show ran very well, and, since none of us got enough to eat on Thanksgiving, hostess Lori Daniels served up a fantastic lunch of good ol' Southern cooking. Coupled with the table full of scrumptious baked goods from the cookie exchange and the chocolate fountain, this was definitely the sweetest show in history! There are no shows on the calendar for December, so the next show in the region will be MITS (Models In The Sunshine), scheduled for January 14, 15, and 16 in Ocala, FL. ****** Region 7 (Heather Jackson-Lain) No report ****** Region 8 (Marilou Mol) Region 8 was fortunate to have beautiful late fall weather...right up until the month of December! On October 30, the Little Horse Show was held in Shipshewana, Indiana, at the Stone Horses Factory. I was unable to attend, but I understand that it was an excellent show with good competition and some wonderful models available in the warehouse! November 6 saw the GLC No Frills Series Show in Huntley, Illinois. That show saw the return of the GLC Performance Challenge, in which exhibitors bring their tack and props for a variety of classes. Each exhibitor in the challenge then received a special limited edition Peter Stone model, which is then used for the performance classes. It is an enjoyable class, and lots of fun! On November 13, the Novi Equestrian Expo was held in Novi, Michigan. The show was hosted by Donna Pontius. Donna is a very experienced hostess, and I'm sure the show was well-attended! As I write this, I wish you all the happiest of Holidays! ****** Region 9 (Pat Coulter) November brought us the inaugural "South Jersey Classic" in Sewell, NJ. This show was a fundraiser for the new Equine program at Gloucester County College. $1200 was raised and will be used to fund two equine scholarships at GCC in the next school year. ****** Region 10 (Kate Cabot) The late fall in Region 10 is often a busy time for shows and this year was no exception. In October and November, there were 4 shows offered-- New England Fall Live, Southern Connecticut Live, New England Performance Challenge and Fall Foal-iage Live. Sadly, I was unable to get to any of these shows this year but the consensus of the people who attended them was that they were all great. Now, we are all going to take a little break for the winter, but not for too long since the shows start up in March! Here's wishing all of my Region 10 friends a healthy and happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year! See you in spring! ****** Region 11 (Sandra Gibson) No Report ****** Posted by Pauline Entin, NAMHSA PR 1/16/2011 | |
