NAMHSA News for the period of November 16-30, 2009 based on the minutes compiled by Bobbi Devine, Recording Secretary.

NOVEMBER 16

-Bobbi Devine (Recording Secretary) posted the minutes report from November 1-15, 2009.
These were approved with revisions on 11/27/09.

-Lindsey Hall (President) posted that she requested Liesl Dalpe (Vice President) to get a plan of action from the applicant for the NAN 2010 Auction Chair position.

-Lindsey Hall reported that she had uploaded the NAN financial statements to the NAN Steering Committee group.

-Lindsey Hall requested a Judges Handbook committee update from Pat Coulter (Region 9 Rep).

-Lindsey Hall requested input on whether or not bids should be considered for NAN 2011.

NOVEMBER 18

-Lindsey Hall requested that Bobbi Devine create a poll for the purpose of appointing the NAN 2010 Auction Chair and Raffle Coordinator.
A poll was begun.

-Carra McClelland (Region 4 Rep) motioned to delay the vote until a formal plan was submitted by the applicant. There was no second, so the motion was dropped.

NOVEMBER 22

-The poll to select the next Merit Award Coordinator closed. Jennie Kaech was appointed by majority vote of the Board. The NAMHSA Board thanks all applicants for the position.

-Liesl Dalpe (Vice President) forwarded the NAN 2010 Auction and Raffle proposal submitted by the position applicant.

-Bobbi Devine announced the results of the membership vote for the Bylaw change and Region 1 and 5 Representatives:

Bylaw Change results:
474 possible votes, 208 actual votes were cast:
APPROVE: 171 votes
DISAPPROVE: 35 votes
ABSTAIN: 2 votes
The bylaw change is passed.

Region 1 Representative:
83 possible votes, 42 actual votes were cast:
Tracy Eilers was elected by her region to be the next Region 1 Representative.

Region 5 Representative:
44 possible votes, 19 actual votes were cast:
Lori Batchelor was elected by her region to be the next Region 5 Representative.

NOVEMBER 27

- The poll to approve or deny the nomination of Lauren Wood as the NAN 2010 Auction Chair and Raffle Coordinator closed. Lauren Wood was appointed to the position by majority vote of the Board.

NOVEMBER 28

--Carmen Robertson (Treasurer) posted that a $500. donation had been made to NAMHSA as an early NAN 2010 sponsorship. The donor hoped the money would be earmarked for judges.

NOVEMBER 29

-The November new shows listing was posted by Gail and Jill, Show Member Secretaries. View the current NAMHSA Member Shows.

NOVEMBER 30

-Susan Hurst (Merit Award Coordinator) agreed to a transfer date of January 20th, 2010 to incoming MAC Jennie Kaech.

-Lindsey Hall relayed that the Plastic Pony Project model horse show that was to have been held November 7th and 8th, 2009 had been canceled at the last minute due to illness.
