NAMHSA News for the period of August 16-31, 2013, based on the minutes compiled by Jackie Arns-Rossi, Recording Secretary. AUGUST 16 -------------------------------------------------- Carra McClelland posted the latest version of the NAN 2015 bid solicitation. AUGUST 17 -------------------------------------------------- Amy Peck forwarded an email from a show holder asking for clarification of the definition of "division" in a performance-only show. The clarification was needed in Western/English/Other vs. OF/AR/CM. It would eventually be agreed upon that in judges could exhibit in classes that had their own champ and reserve, but no overall reserve, without penalty. AUGUST 19 -------------------------------------------------- Carra McClelland posted the latest version of the NAN 2015 bid solicitation. AUGUST 20 -------------------------------------------------- Carra McClelland posted the latest version of the NAN 2015 bid solicitation. Carra McClelland advised the BOD that the de facto show holder of the Region 9 show mentioned in August 10 and 14 had been advised that she was no longer allowed to exhibit at the show. The Region 9 representative would be attending that show and offered to keep an eye on things. Jackie Moore asked if a person could submit more than one NAN bid which the BOD agreed was acceptable. AUGUST 21 -------------------------------------------------- Carra McClelland posted the latest version of the NAN 2015 bid solicitation. AUGUST 22 -------------------------------------------------- The NAN 2015 Bid Solicitation was made live. AUGUST 23 -------------------------------------------------- Lyn Norbury asked what changes DUN had made to their bylaws to make them more in line with NAMHSA. Carra McClelland posted the page of their web site with DUN’s rules and regulations. AUGUST 24 -------------------------------------------------- Lynn Weber advised that all the financials had been updated on the website. AUGUST 25 -------------------------------------------------- Jackie Moore was unable to find past NAN bids on the website. Lynn Weber advised that they were in a password protected part of the site but could make them public if Carra McClelland requested; which she did. The 2011 and 2013 bids were made available to the public. AUGUST 26 -------------------------------------------------- Pauline Entin noted that releasing the bid information should have needed a BOD vote, per policy. While awaiting the vote, Lynn Weber removed the 2013 bids from the web site. AUGUST 27 -------------------------------------------------- Carra McClelland called for a poll asking to approve the public release of the 2013 NAN bids. AUGUST 29 -------------------------------------------------- The poll that began August 27 concluded with 0 No votes and 10 Yes votes. Lynn Weber placed the 2013 NAN bids back on the website. AUGUST 30 -------------------------------------------------- Discussions regarding seeking out a NAN Auction Coordinator began. Jackie Arns-Rossi asked about the status of the DUN Reciprocity discussion. Lynn Weber responded that the committee had recommended approval.
