REGIONAL REPORTS
******
Region 1- Erin Corbett
Region 1 was wrapped up with NAN in June, of course! Several region one'ers helped out with NAN in a variety of ways, from judging to ring stewarding to announcing to being "Vannas" for the auction. It was a first NAN for many people here as well, and I heard almost exclusively positive feedback. We were happy to host NAN this year, and I think it brought us closer together as a region.
A few of us are gearing up for Breyerfest now as well! As far as local shows, there are two on the horizon - one in August held by Cheryl Wood in Albany, Oregon, and one held by Vicky Harms and Amy Elkins in Portland, Oregon. These two shows will be lovely and relaxing compared to what we all just went through with NAN! Cheryl's show is all minis, and she has just added a performance division. She has some great judges coming in from outside our region as well, which is always a nice change of pace. Vicky and Amy's show (Rose City Live) will be held at the same venue that hosted NAN, and they always do a bang-up job of providing a comprehensive classlist and an all-around great show.

Region 2- Tom Dean
June was an eventful month, with BreyerWest in Sacramento the 12th through the 14th, and of course NAN in Portland, Or the 26th through the 28th. BreyerWest keeps getting bigger and better each year. This year the Open Show on Friday, the demonstrations on Saturday, and the Novice Show on Sunday were held indoors for the first time. The show was well attended by both north and south CA showers as well as several from other states. NAN in Portland was very enjoyable this year. It was great to get to see hobby friends from near and far; as well as make new friends that had been only email "voices". I also enjoyed judging OF Collectibility on Sunday as there were some truly excellent models presented.
No shows to report for July, but I expect to hear reports from those who are making the trip to KY for Breyerfest

Region 3- Teresa Buzzell
The big hobby event for June for Region 3 was NAN even though there were about a handful of us from the area in attendance. Lots of lovely, LOVELY things to look at and judge - and I managed to only miss judging in three divisions! And, of course all the old friends to chat with was incredibly lovely, as well as meeting and chatting with new friends. Since the area is "home" to me, I went out a bit early and stayed a bit later, visiting the parents and enjoying time away from normal life stuff. I must have visited too well, my Dad is already asking me when I'm coming back!
July events:
July 11, 2009: Tuscan Mountain Live in Tucson, AZ. Held at the time of this report.
August events:
Aug 22, 2009: Red Devil Live 1 in Golden, CO - contact Teresa Fedak if interested.
Unfortunately, I will not be attending RDL 1 this year but will instead be off to Buccaneer Live in Region 4 to show, judge and curse at the traffic on I-80 and in Lincoln proper. :)
Good luck to all of those attending BF - may you find what you want cheaply, do well at the shows and come back home in one piece, people, ponies and vehicles!

Region 4- Carra McClelland
Region 4 was quiet in June with NAN and Breyerfest preparations.
In August we have Buccaneer Live in Lincoln, NE to look forward to as well as some upcoming shows in October!
I was glad to see Region 4 represented at NAN and so many Region 4 horses winning Top Tens! Congrats to the winners!

Region 5- Carmen Robertson
We had three shows in Region 5 this month.
June 13 & 14 was the The Pinto World Championship Model Horse Show In Tulsa, OK held by The Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc. Held in conjunction with the Pinto Horse World Championship this show had great awards and opened up a lot of real horse people to the world of model horses. This was the second year for the Pinto Horse Assoc to host the show and I'm sure they will do it again next year.
June 13 was the BYO in Bolivar, TX hosted by Sue Stewart. This all performance BYO show has what everyone likes...FOOD! A pot luck lunch, performance NAN tune up show and even a little shopping. This is a great small show with fierce performance competition that is top NAN quality all the way.
June 27 was the Summer Excitement Live in Oklahoma City, OK hosted by Jacklyn Catena-Hart. An all OF halter & Race Meet show offered classes to both Open and Youth showers. The race meet sounded like a fun idea and a great way to break up a sometimes tiring show day. They even had a catered lunch which is always a great idea.
Of course there was NAN in Portland, OR on June 26, 27 & 28. I hope everyone had a good time and from the reports the show went great! I wish I could have attended but I'll see you next year in KY.
We have one show scheduled for July. On the 31st we have the Celebrate Late Live show in Oklahoma City, OK hosted by Neeva Jones. An OF China/Resin, CM/AR and Lakeshore halter show. http://okiemomodelshows.com/default.aspx And I look forward to seeing everyone in Kentucky for Breyerfest the 17th-19th.
Have a great summer everyone!

Hello all!
On June 13, a brand new show, Treasures of the Bay Live, was held in Tampa, FL. This show was held at the Kitchen & Bath Factory and was hosted by Heather Gill. Our thanks to the owners for allowing us to hold a show there during business hours! After everyone was through walking around in awe at the amazing kitchen and bath appliances and fixtures, the show ran very smoothly. The prizes awarded were very creative, and we all had a fabulous time!
There are no shows scheduled in the region for July, as many of us are making the trek up to Breyerfest. The next show on the region calendar is HOTTS (Horses on the Table Show) in Flagler County on Sept 19. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day and a safe trip to Kentucky!

Region 7- Heather Jackson-Lain
June brought the arrival of two shows held in region 7.
The first on June 13th was the 7th installment Big Orange Bash at the university of TN Knoxville with new host Gina Galyon. As always the show was well battened and much fun was had by all who attended. I saw a lot of of regular region 7ers who came out to help support The Large Animal Department at UT. The second show was a brand new small show held by Kristina Lucas Francis in her studio in Dandridge Tn. The Bare Bones Dog and Pony show. it was a small but hugely fun show that offered not only NAN qualifying horse classes but a full line up of dog classes as well. The show was fast paced and let out in time for everyone to take a short trip to Gatlinberg for a spontaneous dog shopping trip. Bare Bones was a full Benefit for Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Now the region is settled in getting ready for the flood of hobbyists that will soon flock to our great region for all the fun festivities of Breyerfest, Equilocity and of course the Brand new Breakables at the BreyerFest Birthday Bash.
Hope to see many of you guys there!

Region 8- Marilou Mol
Hi, all!
Region 8 was pretty quiet overall in June, with most of the hobbyists getting ready for Breyerfest and enjoying the weather!
There was one weekend of Region 8 shows on June 20 and 21, and I was honored to attend. The shows were the Silver Spur Live OF Plastic Show, and the Silver Spur Live Resin & Custom Show. They were held in Howell, Michigan, and hosted by Teri Steele and Silke Brockmoeller. I had a wonderful time! The lakeside setting at Lake Chemung is beautiful, the weather was lovely (though a bit breezy!), and Teri and Silke were wonderful hostesses. The show was a lot of fun, and it was great to see some friends from Michigan and meet some new friends!
I also want to thank Kathy Tomlinson for the enjoyable meals!
Region 8 is looking to be pretty quiet in July, except for those who are attending Breyerfest. Have a great month!

Region 9- Pat Coulter
June was a quiet month in Region 9. The only show was "Chincoteage Beach Party Live" in Chincoteague, VA. By all accounts it was well attended and every one had a great time. Elaine from Stone Co. was there with the show specials and she also held an auction of OOAK models. It was reported a portion of the auction proceds were donated to the Misty Foundation.
Other than that, we are just gearing up for a Fall schedule that is shaping up to be quite full!

Region 10- No Report (Valerie Parker not yet installed as Representative)
******
Region 11- Sandra Gibson
Well...
Region 11 has very little to report for June, except for a bunch of us having an awesome time at NAN. Unfortunately our reguarily scheduled show did not take place this year for a variety of factors. So June was a very quiet month. 8 Canadians however, attended NAN, and we all had a great time! Sockmonkeys, canadian hats/shirts/clothing abounded.
July looks like it should be promising with the regular Lethbridge Live show coming up this weekend in beautifully flat Lethbridge, Alberta.
So I look forward to a much busier report next month!
